Center Soya LLCMegalac is a fat that is protected from the active substances of rumen. The feed provides cows with energy, thus increasing their endurance, vitality and milk yield. It degrades in the rennet at about 2.5 pH acidity, while passing unchanged through rumen with 6 pH acidity. Digestibility of Megalac is up to 96%.
Goals and the need for inclusion in the diet
The standard dosage per 1 head of cattle is 0.5 to 0.75 kg of Megalac a day. It is included in the diet of calving cows gradually, giving animals the opportunity to adapt to new food. It is better to extend the adaptation period for 3 weeks to ensure correct mineral balance, given that the product composition includes 9% of calcium.
So, experts recommend including Megalac in the cattle diet to increase milk yield:
— the product increases energy, providing active lactation;
— it improves digestibility of other feed components to increase energy.
On average, the milk production is observed to grow by 2.3 liters per cow per day.
Equally important is the increase in insemination resulting from the product consumption. Megalac boosts the production of progesterone, the hormones necessary for pregnancy.
Improving animal health due to Megalac inclusion in the diet makes its another advantage. Immediately after calving the cows increase their lactation which then gradually reduces to low yields. With this product, you can stabilize the condition of animals, while maintaining milk production at a stable high level almost until the next calving.
Megalac protected fat is a combination of fatty acids and calcium. Calcium protects fatty acids from degrading in the rumen, so they pass intact and safe into the abomasum with acidic medium (pH 2.5), and then, after hydrolysis, into the small intestine for digestion. The “protection”, high digestibility in the small intestine and high energy efficiency explain the excellent indicator of net energy of lactation (NEL) in Megalak.
